Job Title : IT System Associate Department: Operations-IT

Reports to: COO FLSA Status: Full Time, Exempt

Job Summary:

The IT Technician keeps Refreshed Tech's technology running by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the laptops, desktops, and hardware that the team relies on every day. This role provides hands-on device support and general IT troubleshooting across the company, keeping employees productive and equipment in good working order.

This position requires someone who is comfortable opening up a machine and fixing it, as well as handling the day-to-day IT requests that come with a fast-moving, hands-on environment.

Essential Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and Repair Hardware: Troubleshoot and repair company laptops, desktops, and peripherals, including component replacement and upgrades (RAM, storage, batteries, screens, and more).

• Deploy and Configure Devices: Set up new laptops and desktops for employees, including OS installation, software configuration, and account setup.

• Provide Day-to-Day IT Support: Respond promptly to employee support requests, resolving hardware and software issues to minimize downtime.

• Maintain Equipment and Inventory: Track the company's IT equipment, maintain repair histories, and keep spare parts and loaner devices organized.

• Support Network and Peripherals: Troubleshoot connectivity issues with printers, monitors, docking stations, and the office network.

• Perform Preventive Maintenance: Complete routine maintenance on company technology to reduce future breakdowns and extend equipment life.

• Document and Escalate Issues: Log recurring problems, recommend solutions, and escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or outside vendors when needed.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Competencies/Skills/Abilities:

Technical Skills:

• Hardware Troubleshooting: Working knowledge of computer hardware, comfortable opening up and repairing laptops and desktops.

• Operating Systems & Software: Familiarity with Windows (required) and macOS (a plus), along with common business software and basic networking concepts.

• General IT Aptitude: Comfortable troubleshooting a wide range of technology issues rather than a single specialty area.

Problem-Solving & Initiative:

• Independent Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose issues and work independently.

• Organization: Able to manage multiple repair and support requests at once, keeping track of equipment and priorities.

Professionalism & Reliability:

• Communication: Clear communication skills, able to explain technical issues in plain language to non-technical staff.

• Dependability: Reliable and dependable, with a strong commitment to punctuality and consistent attendance.

Required Education and Experience:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

•2-3 years of experience in a general IT support or technician role.

• Working knowledge of computer hardware repair, including laptops and desktops.

• Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.

Preferred:

• Relevant certification (CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar).

• Experience supporting a mixed Windows/macOS environment.

• Experience in a warehouse, distribution, or high-volume device environment.

Work Environment:

• Work is performed on-site at the Refreshed Tech facility, primarily indoors in an office and warehouse setting, with occasional exposure to warehouse conditions when repairing or deploying equipment on the floor.
