Funeral Director/Embalmer

Family-Owned Funeral Home/Crematory located in Hampton Roads, Virginia is seeking a full-time funeral director/embalmer. We place a premium on collegiality and teamwork and are looking for an individual who can work closely with co-workers and families in a pleasant and cohesive environment. Our success has been driven by a long-term dedicated professional staff. We are seeking someone who is committed to the highest level of customer service with empathy and compassion.

Hampton Roads, Virginia is a coastal community located between the Chesapeake Bay and the James River. Conveniently located to Virginia Beach and Williamsburg.

Job Description:

• Arrange and conduct all aspects of funeral services
• Prepare legal documents and contracts
• Care for the deceased
• Embalming proficiency and preparations
• No night removals
• Operating the crematory

Requirements:

• Commonwealth of Virginia Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer (Reciprocation)
• Multi-Tasker
• Empathetic and Compassionate
• Ability to Communicate Effectively in Writing and in Person
• Detailed Orientated
• Good Driving Record
• Proficient Computer Skills
• Professional Appearance
• Ability to Lift
• Cremation Operators Certification (FH will pay for certification)

Founded by Thomas “TC” and Etta Weymouth in 1960, Weymouth Funeral Home is a full service, family owned funeral home and crematory. For three generations we have served our Hampton Roads neighbors with compassionate and professional attention to detail.

Since 1996, their daughter, Veronica Weymouth, has been overseeing the family business; keeping her parents vision of serving the community alive. Her brother-in-law, Monte German, serves as the General Manager.

We understand that each funeral or memorial service should be as unique as the life being celebrated, and we offer services that best reflect each person’s life, interests, customs and religious beliefs. Our services are tailored and personal to each individual with options available for all budgets. We will assist you with all aspects of the funeral service including all necessary paperwork. Our on-site crematory was the first on the Peninsula. We are also available to preplan your funeral.
